  1. Hi Laura,
This prize is only if you complete NaNoWriMo, right? Meaning, if you don’t complete your goal you can’t enter? What about if you complete your writing goal but the manuscript isn’t complete?

    • Hi Aviva. I have a rule of never giving feedback on an unfinished first draft. So if you don’t finish your first draft by the end of NaNoWriMo, you won’t be eligible to win this prize. Hopefully, you will have the discipline to use November and the NaNo incentives and support to write and finish that first draft! :-)

      • Hi Laura,
Thank you for the answer and I completely understand. I am new to NaNoWriMo, so I’m wondering if you can use the same story two years in a row. Would that be allowed?

        • Hi Aviva. I don’t see a problem with that. But first you need to participate in NaNoWriMo 2015 AND finish your book manuscript. Then you can apply for the Polly Prize.

  2. Smriti

    Hi Laura,

Does the information need to be a sort of personal essay, or more formal, or anything I like?

    • Laura Thomas

Hi Smriti. Anything you like, but I would like to see the information woven into something that is enjoyable to read.

  3. Smriti

Folllowing December 5, when will the winner be announced?

    • Laura Thomas

Hi Smriti. I usually need a week or two to decide. It depends on how many entries there are.
