How are you? Since the academic year has now begun, and you are probably really busy, I’ll try to keep this as short as I can…but I don’t think words can fully contain and express my message in this email.
It’s only a few days away from announcing the winners of the 2015 International Junior Authors Short Story Contest, and I wanted to thank you, the LTC team, and other volunteers for hosting it. I cannot even imagine the amount of time and effort you and the team spent on a contest just for us developing junior writers. It’s really hard finding an international writing contest, especially for students of my age group, and finding your website was one of the best things that has ever happened to me.
Although I was not a finalist this year, I had a lot of fun writing and revising the story I submitted. I feel that this experience helped me grow as a young writer, and the fact that there is next year and many years to come motivates me to write even better things.
To be honest, my gratitude is not only towards the short story contest, but towards everything you do. The community of young writers, the many opportunities to be published, and the supportive environment that you have created and fostered is nothing short of amazing. Although I have only known LTC for a few months, I feel that I have learned so many valuable things from you and your website.
Also, the copy of Polly Wants To Be A Writer that I have ordered has finally arrived, and I finished reading it last weekend. Just like Goodreads and other LTC members have said, it is a perfect blend between a writing guide and a fiction novel. When I first found you online, I admired your courage and dedication to helping your writers. Now, after reading your work, I really deem you as the Queen of Young Writers… perhaps even the Queen of Writing!
Thank you once again for everything you have done for me and other writers. I love Laura Thomas Communications!
