So Halloween is coming up, and you think you are too old to go trick-or-treating? Don’t despair, young authors, for Raiha the Witch has gathered a few prompts and ideas that will help you decorate your blog this Halloween.
Share information about Halloween
Most people are unaware of the origin of Halloween. Why not Google some facts and present them in a fresh way on your blog? You may even write a story to convey your points. You may also provide content on how different cultures have different ways to celebrate Halloween. Other interesting topics include:
- Some schools are banning Halloween celebrations because of the religious roots of the holiday. Do you agree with such a ban?
- You are the star reporter for a Halloween newspaper, and you run into a ghost. What would you ask?
Create a list of the most haunted places in the world. You may also write a story of a factual account. Also ask people to share their own “haunted house” experiences. You may even run a poll, asking people what their favourite candy is. Come on, everyone has one!
Start a Writing Contest
Start a writing contest for your blog readers. Invite them to write a scary story and post the best one on your blog. You may also post two or three and allow the readers to choose their favourite.
Share your Favourite Halloween Memory
Tell your reader what you did, when you did it, and why this memory sticks. You can even ask your readers to share their favourite memories and the one you find the most amusing, post on your blog.
Write a story using these Story Starters:
Everyone said the mansion was haunted…
I entered my home only to be greeted by the sight of a cauldron gurgling, full of a gooey green liquid.
The mad scientist was creating a new monster that could…
I got an eerie feeling when I heard…

Something in the closet was making a strange noise, so I opened the door and…
